Then Michael Jackson’s penchant for porn completes the recent picture. In the old days, before the internet, porn consisted of cartoon postcards emblazoned “What the Butler Saw” or, at worst, some grainy blue 8 mm film dragged out at stag parties where the bump and grind was more tame than a Jane Fonda workout video. You saw less breast and leg than found in an average KFC quarter pack today. But with the internet, porn has exploded from a puerile set of smutty images to a much more insidious and depraved level of degradation. The late Lord Longford, popularly known as “Lord Porn” in the 70’s when he was the British watchdog on all matters porn, exclaimed when he retired that he had “acquired a taste”.
