This very important Act changed the whole face of contact law in New Zealand in 1979.
It is not a long Act.
Anyone who wants to study the Law of Contract in New Zealand must know this Act like the back of their hand. Read it.
Principles of contract law remained similar but this Act set out a number of rules and clarified those rules which the Courts had been struggling to perfect over the previous 100 years.
You should certainly look through the Act and, in particular, sections 4, 6, 7, and 9.
